The purpose of the workshop is to develop a small portfolio of images (plus statement) that the participants can later expand on their own.
There are many types of economic hardships, in many different countries, caused by different reasons. Each workshop participant is invited to find her or his own particular focus, to build a sold concept around the focus, and to then go out and take images. There are no restrictions on the kinds of economic hardships participants might choose; however, each concept will be investigated thoroughly to
make sure it makes sense and is not too vague (or cliched). There are also no restrictions on the types of images the workshop participants decide to produce, be they documentary, conceptual, fine art, ...
Technical feedback is part of the workshop, but the focus is on visualizing each participant's idea.

At the end of the workshop, each participant will produce an edit of between 15 and 20 images, which will be posted online. The goal of the workshop is to help participants understand the steps from having an idea for a project, fleshing out the idea, starting to take photographs, revising (where necessary) the concept, to finding the images that express the concept.

Workshop applicants will be chosen based on the quality and promise of their initial idea for the workshop, plus on the quality of one, ideally two finished projects.
Please, add a project idea on the topic and 1-2 completed projects to your portfolio to be considered for this workshop.
