This 10-week workshop aims at producing new stories based on participants' ideas. The workshop will focus on both guiding your proposed stories/projects towards completion as well as exploring current opportunities in which to market work.
Each participant will present a brand new (meaning - something you are about to start working on, and not the work in-progress) story/project idea (a person, place or issue) to photograph during the 10 week workshop and will be responsible for learning about his or her subject; history, schedules and experiences in order to utilize all photographic opportunities.
The class will initially meet once a week to review the completion of assignments and discuss follow-up assignments. Participants will be expected to shoot their assignments on a weekly basis. Individual edits can be discussed between participants and workshop masters, at the masters discretion.
As this is a learning opportunity, we ask that participants DO NOT CROP their images, until such time as that is indicated.
The class will work together on the final edit of each participant's project.
The final two weeks of the workshop will be devoted to discussing current markets in which to place the participant’s completed work, as well as practical tips for entering those markets.
Each applicant must add the following to his portfolio to be considered to the Editorial workshop (can be organized as one post):
• Describe at least one story/project idea(s) you would like to execute during this workshop (150 words)
• Provide 10-12 recent images that demonstrate your photographic ability on other subject examples
• Describe your photographic goals (personal, professional, etc.)
• Describe your goals for this workshop
