"It is impossible to tell about this city: it is beautiful. As well as it is impossible to say that it is ugly. Krasnoyarsk is a surprising combination of insipid oprichnina with the latent Siberian charm. Motley green giraffes and elephants stand near the ordinary-looking five-storey apartment blocks, it is possible to find old wooden houses in separate corners of a city with a geranium at windows, the grandmothers selling knitted socks and cozy children's court yard with multi-colored flags. Just cross the street and you will see the quay of Yenisei covered with Pepsi bottles, the massive iron constructions near the Opera and ballet theater, the advertisement banners closing the Museum of local lore. And at night the city center is real Las Vegas, only with the Siberean insipidity".

Nowadays in every city there are a great number of modern huge cinemas. But theese are not the cinemas of the past where there were only a film and a viewer. Popcorn, game-machines, bars, casinos – all theese things today are often an invariable addition to a film which itself is mainly taken as an amusment. In Krasnoyarsk there are such cinemas which for people in fact are rather hangouts than cinemas. Before nonstop-viewings schoolchildren and students drink beer and “cola”, eat hamburgers and play billiards. Actually it doesn’t matter for them which film will be shown – they just want something ‘hot’ and cheerful. I’d like to research the space of modern cinema (film theatres) and to demonstrate the values of young generation and their attitude to the cinema by example of Krasnoyarsk.
