For this assignment the masters decided to give participants three weeks to approach a city/town/village or other geographical point of each participant's choice as a place of origin. It could be a place where the participant lived permanently and had been born in, or happened to be or was working at this point in time.
We were interested in the images about the relationship of people with the place showing what the place means to the subjects and to photographers, what makes it different from other places, the emotional reaction to the state of the place, anything that draws towards this place or that has had an effect on the participant as a person/photographer/artist. In short, masters wanted to see the origins, roots of a certain geographical place in relation to concrete people or groups of people.
